Weston A. Price Foundation

What is it?

Weston A Price was a dentist in the 1900s who travelled the world studying indigenous cultures and their diets, particularly the relationship between nutrition and dental and physical health. In 1939, he published Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. The book concludes that aspects of a modern Western diet (particularly flour, sugar, and modern processed vegetable oils) cause nutritional deficiencies that are a cause of many dental issues and health problems.

The Weston A. Price foundation was established by Sally Fallon, who herself has written the Nourishing Traditions series of books.

The Foundation focuses on promoting an inclusive nutrient-dense diet full of saturated fats, fat soluble vitamins, quality animal protein and dairy.

Root Cause Protocol (RCP)

What is it?

The basic principles of this protocol is that all disease is caused by inflammation, in particular oxidative stress. Oxidative stressed is primarily caused by the imbalance of three key minerals

  • Magnesium
  • Copper
  • Iron

The RCP is founded on extensive research which is based on peer-reviewed scientific articles. The protocol challenges mainstream medicine by diving deep into the connection between biochemistry, stress responses in the body and symptoms.

Excerpt from the RCP manual:
The RCP is designed to:
1) increase bioavailable COPPER in order to...
2) decrease unbound IRON and...
3) decrease the MAGNESIUM burn rate in order to...
4) repair cellular mineral imbalance -- the ROOT CAUSE of virtually ALL health challenges.

Stated more scientifically, the RCP is designed to help the body "make" Ceruloplasmin and "empower" Ferroxidase in order to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation.

● Ceruloplasmin (Cp) is a Copper dependant protein that, in a healthy body, enables Ferroxidase function.
● Ferroxidase (FOX), the “Active” form of Ceruloplasmin, is the Enzyme that regulates (or “chaperones”) Iron and prevents it from “rusting" / oxidizing. Ferroxidase is the master antioxidant enzyme that regulates Iron status in the body.
● Dysregulated, unbound, excess Iron is the greatest source of oxidative stress and inflammation in the body
